Greetings from Ft. Chaffee, AR.....HOOAH!

Once again, I am in the beautiful great wilderness of Ft. Chaffee. After a whirlwind ER visit (2 to be exact...see Angie's blog for details), I left Angie and the girls (2 of which are sick..par for the course) to join my department in AR to set up the training area for another round of weapons training. I have to say, I hate leaving the girls, but this is the one trip that I don't mind so much. I teach small arms, which is not a primary skill for boat guys, so I am pretty much my own boss while we are up here. Also, the majority of my work on this trip is the land nav course. We aren't conducting that training this trip, so my schedule is pretty laid back. Oh.....and it is kind of nice to not have to change a Maddy man-poop diaper for 3 weeks. (I'm sure Angie will have me make of for lost time when I get back, unless she potty trains her before I return. :)

We have been blessed with great weather this trip. It rained hard for two days, but not all day. And the rain is keeping the temperature rather cool, especially for May. Every thing is really green, which makes me kind of disappointed that we aren't doing land nav. However, the ticks are really bad this year. We have to have this globally toxic liquid on our pants (Not skin, the bottle says...toxic to humans) or we will have two or three ticks on us within 10 minutes of walking onto the range.

Just so everyone knows, the pictures of my latest project were posted thanks only to my wonderful wife. She was even gracious enough to post them in first person so it appeared that I put them on there. I think she gets tired of everyone complaining to her that I don't post often. I'm sure people complain to me, but as with any time someone is bitching to me or about me, I probably press the internal "MUTE" button. Don't be offended...I do it to Ang all the time. It use to make her mad, but now I think she is just jealous that she can't master the skill of selective hearing like I have. (Ha, ha.)

Anyway, enough of that. It's Mother's Day this Sunday! Don't forget to call your Mother. (I sure hope I don't.) I have a note taped to the wall next to the doop of my barracks room that says, "Hey Stupid! Call Mom; it's Mother's Day!" I wish I could be home this weekend. My Mom, Dad, J, Bubba, Hammer, and maybe KK and David are coming to my house for a Mother's Day/Delaney's birthday party. It only figures that I would be gone right now. I always miss the cool get-togethers. Oh well, poor me. I should quit bitching, before you all hit your own "MUTE" buttons.

Anyway, I love you, Mom. I wish I could be with you this weekend, I miss you. But I'll see you soon this summer I guess.

To: Angie and the Princesses, I miss you too. I'll talk to you soon. Love, Me.

Not to be a nag, but I am just now checking the blog because you DON'T POST VERY OFTEN. Thanks for thinking of me back in May...we did miss you and all of us did appreciate the flowers. You are a sweet son. I love you.

P.S. I plan to hold you to the visits. I have tried to be patient and understanding...you had a baby and then a month-long trip. Maybe now we can try to visit at least every 6 weeks or so...OK? We miss you all.

Love, MOM
