18 May 2007

Just wanted every one to know that Angie, Keri, Ricky, and Dixie need many prayers. Also, everyone should say a quick prayer for Pops. Angie called me at 6:45 p.m. today, Friday May 18, 2007, to tell me that her daddy just passed. Pops is a great man, who has been very close to God for the past year. He doesn't need help getting into heaven. If he isn't the type of person who sits with angels, then I am never gonna get there. But, a chorus of prayers to let God know what kind of man he has now, and how much that man will be missed, would be nice.

Also, it seems that, once Dixie told Pops that his daughters were coming to see him again, he said that he didn't want them to see him in his present state. But....he waited for them to get there before he passed. When Angie walked in, her daddy, who has always been a rock of a man, looked as though he were 90 years old. He was struggling to breath and barely hanging on. When his two daughters told him they were with him, he came to, and said, "I have to go, I have to go....I love you, but I have to go." Angie and Keri said it was okay to go, and that they would be ok. He slowly stopped breathing moments later.

This account is as I heard it from my devastated wife. I hope she doesn't mind that I am blogging this, but I can't bare to tell the story out loud. I'm having trouble seeing the keyboard as it is.

Anyway, be thinking of Angie, Keri, and their big brother, Ricky. Because they have just lost their Dad, who is finally in heaven, with their Mom. And pray for Dixie, who has lost the love of her life.

We all love you Pops....you are already missed.

My heart is breaking for you. He was such a great man, and such a pleasure to be around the few times I met him. I know how loved he is! Our love pours for you and your family. I hope you can feel comfort knowing Angie's mom is with him in heaven!
