Hangin' out wit Billy Bob in Ar-kansas
Hey Y'all,
I'm up here again in Ft. Chaffee, AR. Of all the places I travel for training, this would have to be my favorite. The base here is pretty much empty, except for us and some of our brothers from Virginia. The town and landscape is ten times more relaxed than that of Ft. Hood. The weather is much nicer, too. It's been in the thirties at night and seventies during the day. Just like I like it. It is supposed to be in the eighties soon, but then drop again, I hope. The people here aren't nearly as uptight as Ft. Hood, also. The guys we work with on the base staff are just a bunch of country boys watching the clock for quitting time so they can go out in the woods to kill something.
Speaking of killing things, I'm looking forward to Pop's hunting vacation coming up soon. As usual, I missed Halloween this year (8th year in a row, I think), but this will be my first hunt with the guys. I can't wait. I finally get to shoot something with my M14!
Anyway, I would still rather be at home with my chicks, but if I have to be away, this isn't that bad. My only real complaint is that the base doesn't get ESPN. What commander in his right mind will have Direct TV and not have ESPN? What an idiot! Actually, instead he pipes in the Golf Channel, so I should say, "What a homo!" But, I do have my own room with my own bathroom, so I can truly be myself. (You know, walk around naked, fart, scratch, snort, burp, and just be a guy.) I know Angie is asking what the difference is between that and how I act at home. If only she knew how much I supress for her benefit, she would probably pack up the kids and move before I come home.
So, I guess I'll leave you guys with that beautiful picture. I'll write again when I can convince the guy who owns this computer to let me use it again.
Later
