And one more thing!

Well, Ang is out on another girls night out, so I decided to blog one more time tonight. I was talking to a guy at church about all the girls' nights out that women take. He said the last guys' night out was a year ago when they all got together to move one of the women from the church into her new house. And before that, it was four years ago when they got together to clean up some lady's yard after a storm.

I can't remember if I ever went on a GUYS' night out! Angie says I get plenty of nights out when I am on trips. I don't think that compares, since most of the guys I work with, I don't hang out with away from work.

Why don't married guys have to freedom to go out with their friends without the possibility of repurcussions? Is it because the images one gets in their mind's eye of a Guys' night out is so much more shameful than that of the opposite sex's night of escape? When girls fo for a night out, it usually invoves dinner at their favorite restaurant and a chance for each to have one or two of their favorite cocktails, without being watched by their children. The one guys night out that I was ever invited to was an evening at home, playing a boardgame...I think Pictionary or something like that.

What's wrong with a bunch of guys going to a sports pub to play pool, cards, or watch the game over a couple of beers? Why is it that we should feel guilty about leaving our families at home to go have a little "Running with the Pack" time? Not that Angie gives me any kind of guilt trip, but it is obvious that since she spends all week with the kids, she doesn't want me to leave her with them on the weekend. If I scheduled something like that, sure, she wouldn't stop me. But, she would be disappointed, because if she didn't have something planned with her girlfriends, whe would want the family to be together. So where does that leave me? I'll tell you....at home, with the family, and in the good graces of my women!

If I was closer, you could have your night out and Ang could too and I would babysit! Deal? Maybe when I retire.....
